THE KNIGHTS MADE IT!!!

July 24, 2006

after the very inspiring recollection given by Fr. Tagura, i accompanied the Knights (official basketball varsity players of CKMS) in the SHMI (Sons of Heart of Mary Immaculate) Seminary to compete with the Rogationist Seminarians. We left CKMS at around one, reached the seminary in less than an hour but waited for almost two hours for the start of the basketball game.

When the game started, our general feeling was that "we might be losing" since the opponent immediately made an abrupt gap of ten points!

Gosh, we encouraged everyone to cheer for our players and we reminded ourselves with the battlecry of the late Fr. Ceresko, "what is beautiful with Christianity is that there is always the aspect of hope."

We hoped to catch up…we cheered…and indeed, during the change of court, the Knights started to gain advantage. Ah, the SVD audience went wild! Some of our seminarians danced whenever our varsity players scored! Our hope was never in vain…i knew we were winning…and we did!

Congrats to the Knights! i am proud of you guys! Next game, please!

Pictures will be downloaded soon…

Seminarians Cheered Pacman

SEMINARIANS CHEERED PACMAN

The seminarians were also excited last Sunday, July 2 over the sceduled Mano-a-Mano Pacquiao vs. Larios. Before the fight, the seminarians were already asking me if they could watch the said bout of the year. Fortunately, they were given permission to watch it at the ABS-CBN channel.

The seminarians were very happy. Early in the morning, they were already at the TV room and enthusiastically cheered over the victory of Filipino boxers over the Mexicans. I thought that the Cebu-based boxer Jaca lost over his Mexican opponent, but, the technical decision proved otherwise. Truly, it was his lucky day.

When it was the time for the "Pacman" - "Chololo" duel, the seminarians already knew that Manny won. They cheered every uppercut, wallop and southpaw tactics of our Pinoy boxer. P1010010_1 P1010004_1 P1010016_1 P1010019_1 P1010014_1 P1010012 P1010007

Indeed, it was a victory for all Filipinos and the seminarians were one with the whole nation in celebrating it. The Pacman victory made an eclipse over the much-celebrated FIFA Worldcup. Manny is truly the People’s champion! Go, Manny!
